Following rave reviews of James Vickery’s sophomore EP, ‘Until Morning’, and a sold-out Jazz Cafe show in London, the soulster has released the music video for ‘Violet’.
Labelled “a beautiful piece of songwriting, oddly wistful as it conjures fragrant R&B textures” by Clash Music, the moody single comes of an Until Morning EP that has already clocked up millions of streams since its August release.
‘Violet’ has hit heights on Spotify’s UK Viral chart and received a lot of love from BBC Radio 1. When speaking about the track, Vickery said:
“‘Violet’ is a play on words for feeling Blue. It’s around a point when you feel everything is trying to keep you from being with your significant other, but despite all the signs and the negative aura surrounding it, you would never let anything keep you from being together.”
“It’s feel-good, warm, which in my opinion, is everything a good relationship should represent.”

Vickery recently featured on the COLORS YouTube channel alongside the likes of Billie Eilish, Jorja Smith and Mahalia, where he performed ‘Until Morning’. With that video hitting five million views in five months and now with a stunning visual for ‘Violet’, 2019 is shaping up well for the singer/songwriter.
The ‘Epiphany’ singer recently teased a lot more new music to be expected in the new year, as well as the potential for collaborations.
Great question! 2019 you are going to see a lot of new music. I have plans for all of these, in particular the last one you mentioned. STAY TUNED ? https://t.co/v6fFOXrJB7
