Dating a celebrity can often lead to a life in the spotlight for their significant other; a lesson that Britney Spears’ new boyfriend, Charlie Ebersol, is beginning to learn. Since the couple began their relationship in 2014, the public has been extremely eager to learn about Spears’ new beau.  Due to her troubled dating history, many of Spears’ fans are ready to finally see her end up with someone who plans on sticking around for the long haul. Fortunately for fans, the couple’s relationship seems to be doing well. A source close to the couple has stated: “They met through friends. He is the sweetest guy ever and they are very much enjoying getting to know one another. They are both very happy and having fun. It’s just the beginning so no idea if it will become serious but right now they are having a lot of fun together.” However, for those who are still curious about the newcomer; here are three things you didn’t know about Charlie Ebersol.

3. Charlie Ebersol has dated celebrity women before Britney Spears.

Although Charlie Ebersol comes from a very wealthy family, his current claim to fame is that he is dating pop-star Britney Spears. However, Spears isn’t the first celebrity girlfriend Ebersol has had.  He has also been linked to actress Sophia Bush and tennis payer Maria Sharapova.

2. Charlie Ebersol survived a plane crash.

In 2004, Charlie Ebersol, his father, Dick Ebersol (NBC executive and co-creator of Saturday Night Live), and his younger brother Teddy, were aboard a plan that crashed while attempting to take off.  Although Charlie and his father survived, Teddy Ebersol and several crew members were killed in the crash.  According to an eyewitness account: “I saw this kid [Charlie] waving his arms. He was screaming to me, ‘My brother was in the plane! He’s in the fourth row. Please help me get him out.’ Thrown clear of the plane, Charlie had already rushed back inside and pulled his father to safety. His dad was sitting on the ground behind him, and he was just rocking. I could tell he was in shock. His clothes were all shredded. Both he and Charlie were ripped out of their shoes.”

1. Charlie Ebersol often rides bikes with Lance Armstrong.

Although Charlie Ebersol is not a professional athlete, he often rides bikes with his friend and well-known cyclist, Lance Armstrong.  Armstrong and Ebersol have even been known to engage in some friendly competition.
