What Happened To Trey Mancini?

The MBL star missed the 2020 season after a cancer diagnosis that March.

Trey has to undergo surgery to eradicate the further spread of his colon cancer and chemotherapy for six months before returning to the Orioles in 2021.

Former Baltimore Orioles first baseman/designated hitter Trey Mancini had a cancer scare for two weeks in June, worrying about his Stage 3 colon cancer.

He received a message on June 21 that said a carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) test showed an elevation above average, indicating the presence of cancer cells or a tumor after a regular bloodwork test.

As soon as the MBL star received the message about his CEA test, he contacted his oncologist, who advised him not to worry and required another test to confirm he was cancer-free.

Two weeks after receiving the CEA test result on July 4, Mancini's results for a Circulating Tumor DNA test came back negative.

After recovering from cancer, the baseman recorded hits in 15 of his next 16 games, batted 299 for the month, and participated in MLB's annual Home Run Derby on July 12 during All-Star Game festivities.
